The Concert: A program of scary music featuring works for voice and instrumental sextet of John Williams, Arthur Foote, Richard Einhorn, Gerald Finzi, and Camille Saint-Saens. The concert includes the world premiere of the Hyde Sextet of Max Caplan. Inspired by the ghost stories of Hyde Hall, the work scored for flute, harp and string quartet is reminiscent of the grotesque scherzo movements of Gustav Mahler. Caplan is a noted ascendant composer, whose suffrage-themed opera Aleda was premiered in June of 2018. Musicians of Ma’alwyck is delighted to bring this fun, eerie program to Hyde Hall. Who knows, maybe the ghosts will drop in to hear it!
After the Concert (for diners only): Before sitting down to feast, you will be treated to a Hyde & Shriek Ghost Tour of Hyde Hall and visit the most haunted parts of the mansion. After a thorough spooking, the Harvest Dinner begins with menu options of *Vegetable Lasagna Roulade, Chicken Waterford and Pork Osso Bucco.
