
Arkell Museum Exhibitions
The Arkell Museum is proud to present two exhibitions on view until the end of the year:
“Water-Marks: Etchings, Monotypes & Paintings by Deborah Guertz”; new and retrospective work reflecting the waterways, landforms, and people of the Mohawk Valley.
“Portraits & Landscapes” from the Arkell Museum Collection, celebrating the path of the Erie Canal, which includes work by Gilbert Stuart, Edward Gay, Winslow Homer, and Fritz Vogt.
In addition, the Arkell Museum’s Night Watch Gallery is open and features an artist copy of Rembrandt’s “Night Watch,” and six Winslow Homer oil paintings. Other artists include: Bierstadt, Saint-Gaudens, Tarbell, Thayer, Weir and Twatchman.
Exhibits on view through December 29. Museum admission free for members and children under 11; $9 adults, $6.50 seniors & students.
The Museum, Regional Art Galleries, and Library are open Tues – Fri, 10 am-5 pm; Sat & Sun, Noon-5 pm. The Arkell Museum & Canajoharie Library are located at 2 Erie Boulevard. The building has off street parking and is wheelchair accessible. Info: 518-673-2314
