Artist Panel Discussion: Tina Betz & Kate Dodd
A rare chance to hear two museum-exhibiting, approachable and thoughtful artists, Tina Betz and Kate Dodd! They will discuss their impossibly-fine gossamer work, in paper and glass, delicate AND powerful, that is featured in the current show, big. small. fragile. strong. betz will offer a free glass demonstration at 3PM, an hour before the talk (see Free Glass Demonstration Event !)
Guests are reminded to make reservations to assure a seat: text/call 315-941-9607 or leartgarage@gmail.com. Seating is limited.
Betz studied at Tyler School of Art (BFA) and Alfred University (MFA). In the vanguard of the integration of technology and art, she also coordinates FIRST Tech Challenge youth robotics in NY State and teaches women in Manufacturing for their Associate Certification.
Dodd studied at Columbia (MFA) and Pratt Institute (BFA, cum laude). She has executed numerous commissions for site-specific installations on East and West coasts, as well as for NJ Transit stations. A dedicated educator, she has also taught workshops at all levels for several decades. Dodd uses discarded materials to make her art as she explores issues of consumption and waste. Her delicate artworks reference the fragility of our world and human impact upon it. Please park on lawns not on road.
