Hulse Hill Farm is thrilled to offer a unique experience of Botanical Printing on the Farm Saturday, September 24th 1-4 PM .  Artisan Sarah Gotowka, from Luna Fiber Studio located in Ithaca, New York, will guide us on the process of botanical printing.  Botanical printing, also known as eco – printing, is a natural dye technique of binding, bundling and steaming plant stuff with fiber to get a truly one-of-a-kind print.  Join us on the farm and make your own botanical printed silk scarf. These scarves make a colorful addition to any outfit, and also make incredibly special gifts for loved ones.

We will begin the class with a short tour of our farm, and then harvest and pick flowers for our projects. We will then design and create our scarves. While they are “cooking,” we will have time to talk deeply about natural dye techniques, what sustainability can look like, and the complex histories of textiles. This is the perfect class for anyone who wants to further their knowledge of plants, color and their relationship to fiber. Our herd of cashmere goats will gladly share their barn space while we work!  Refreshments and snacks provided.  We are delighted to open our farm to offer this learning opportunity.  Not only will you be learning the art of botanical printing  but you will go home with a unique and timeless piece.
