Community Harvest Supper on Main
The rumors are true — after a too-long hiatus , we are bringing back our much beloved Community Harvest Supper on Main Street, Sunday, October 1 from 4 to 7 PM in front of the Village Library. For those who are new to Cooperstown, this supper is a chance for us to reconnect after a busy summer — it’s free, open to all, with no politicking, fundraising, or tabling. Just an old-fashioned potluck with good food, and good friends old and new.
We will have a table set up from Fair to River Streets for potluck fun and friendship. The Stoddard Hollow String Band will be back with their lively tunes, kids can play games on the library lawn and we can only hope for good weather!
But we can’t do it alone! We are calling on you — our wonderful community — to lend a hand to make it happen. We would love volunteers to help for 1 hour with:
12 – 1 pm Picking up tables and chairs from churches and organizations that are loaning them.
1 – 2 pm Setting up the tables from Fair to River Streets
2 – 3 pm Decorating the tables
7 – 8 pm Breaking down and packing up the tables and chairs to return.
We also would love for you to spread the word about the Harvest Supper with any folks who are new to the community — what better way to welcome new faces than to raise a glass, share a plate on an autumn afternoon!
To volunteer, please sign up at volunteersignup.org/YJJPK, or email growingcommunity@yahoo.com, or call Kristen Griger at 607.427.2798.
We can’t wait to bring back our annual gathering, and look forward to seeing everyone again!
