The 2019 Fenimore Quilt Club Show at the Cooperstown Art Association | 22 Main St | Saturday 11 am – 4 pm, Sunday 1 pm – 4 pm Warm up with a visit to the 29th Annual Fenimore Quilt Club Show! This highly anticipated exhibit showcases a diverse array of about one hundred quilts and quilted items in both traditional and contemporary designs.  Members of the Fenimore Quilt Club will be present to demonstrate quilting techniques and to answer questions about their craft. Quilt Show will remain open through February 24, daily 11:00 am – 4:00 pm and Sunday 1:00 – 4:00 pm. (Free)

Friday 02/08:

11am – 2pm | Soup R’ Chili Luncheon | First Baptist Church | 21 Elm St It’s chili in the Village! Enjoy homemade chili or soup to warm your body and soul. Gather with friends and neighbors in the fellowship hall or take some to-go for later, and delivery available within the Village. Hearty soup, breads, drinks, and tasty desserts included. Donations support ongoing ministries.

4:30pm – 6:30pm | Brooks Chicken BBQ Dinner to Benefit the Susquehanna SPCA | Christ Episcopal Church Parish Hall | 69 Fair St Winter-winter chicken dinner! Dinners include Brooks BBQ chicken half, potato, rolls, butter, salad and dessert ($10). Eat in or have it packaged “to go,” all for a great cause!

Enjoy a cup of hot cider, complements of Fly Creek Cider Mill, try your hand at ice games made especially for the Winter Carnival, get your 2019 Winter Carnival button, purchase tickets for the Lions Club Benefit Raffle, grab a program and learn about the latest Winter Carnival specials (dining, drinks, tastings, local shops) offered throughout the Village. Lions Club Pancake Breakfast | Cooperstown Veterans’ Club | 60 Main St Start your day with delicious pancakes (gluten free, chocolate chip, blueberry or traditional), scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee, tea and local maple syrup (provided by Otsego County Maple Producers). Adults $9, children 6-12 $6, children 5 and under free. Get a ticket for the Benefit Raffle, too! Sponsored by the Cooperstown Lions Club with assistance from the Leo Club.

10:30am Registration – 11:30am Start | 45th Annual Bob Smullens 5k/10k Run | Cooper Park The kick-off race for the 3rd Annual Frozen Toes Race Series! Wear your favorite Winter Carnival pin from past years and get out and enjoy the winter scenery during this iconic Cooperstown Run. Pre-register at itsyourrace.com, or visit clarksportscenter.com for pre-registration, or stop by the Baseball Hall of Fame Library foyer for race day registration and race bag pick-up. $20/person $50 Family (max 5). 11am | Making Tracks and Finding Tracks | Clark Sports Center | 124 County Highway 52 Strap on snowshoes and hit the trails with the staff of the Otsego County Conservation Association at the Clark Sports Center. Look for signs of animal life in the snow-covered woods and enjoy some fresh air. Open to all ages and all skill levels. A limited number of snowshoes are available courtesy of the Clark Sports Center Adventure Program so register early if you need a pair! All participants should pre-register online at occainfo.org/program-and-event-sign-up-form/. Please indicate if you need snowshoes in the “Notes for OCCA” section of the registration form. This is a free event.

1 – 3pm | A Blizzard of Family Fun! | Lakefront Park The Winter Carnival’s signature family-friendly event! Put away the phone, turn off the screen, and come enjoy outdoor activities designed to make Winter Carnival memories. Benefit Raffle tickets are available here.  “Take a ride on the Wild Side” on inflatable animal shaped tubes, Hop on a horse-drawn wagon rides or hand-led pony rides, NY Wildlife Rescue Center Wildlife Wagon     Mr. Science (Peter Pollock) who will be making “Arctic Ice Blue Slime,” Roast marshmallows over a fire pit. Hot Cider/Snacks/smores will be sold by Cooperstown Youth Baseball. Limited edition Otsego Lake posters to benefit the Friends of the Village Parks. (Free Event)

1:30 – 2:30pm | Bird Watching | 127 Parslow Rd Sponsored by the Otsego Land Trust in conjunction with the Great Backyard Bird Count. Dress appropriately. There will be a plowed parking area, detailed driving directions are available at www.cooperstownwintercarnival.com and in the Welcome Center. (Free)

2 – 4pm | Irish Beer Curling | Railroad Inn | 28 Railroad Ave Check out the curling rink created for the Winter Carnival and watch teams curling their home-made curling pucks – specially-designed cases of beer. For info/to sign-up contact Dave LaDuke at 607-547-8551 (Must be 21+)

3 – 5:30pm – Hot Chocolate Bar & Olaf’s Warm-Up with the Movie “Frozen” | The Tunnicliff Inn | 34 Pioneer St Hot Chocolate Bar from 3 – 4 pm, followed by ”Frozen” from 4 – 5:30 pm. (Free)

4 – 8pm | Cooperstown’s Own Lip Sync Showcase & Flux Capacitor | Upstate Bar & Grill | 5418 State Highway 28 Lip Sync groups* will be followed by Flux Capacitor, Cooperstown’s premier 80s band! Parking at Upstate is limited, please park in the Blue Trolley Lot and catch the courtesy shuttle provided by Upstate Bar & Grill. (Must be 21+) ($10 admission for Lip Sync Showcase & band.) 6pm | Winter Sky-light Fireworks Over Otsego Lake! There is no better back-drop than beautiful Otsego Lake for fireworks! Wander down to the Lake before 6:00 pm so you don’t miss the bright colors splashed across the night sky. Made possible with personal contributions from Otsego County Clerk Kathy Sinnot Gardner, Otsego County Sheriff Richard Devlin, District Attorney John Muehl, Otsego County Treasurer Allen Ruffles, The Casale Group and the Lions Club of Cooperstown.

6:30 – 11pm | Bassett Health Care’s Annual Valentine’s Soiree | Ballroom of the The Otesaga | 60 Lake St Live music, delicious food and drink, and a picture-perfect setting, makes this a delightful night out! Tickets must be purchased in advance ($150 each). Proceeds will support Bassett Medical Center’s Arts in Health Care program. 6:30 – 8:30pm | Community Movie Night featuring “Small Foot” | Clark Sports Center | 124 County Highway 52 Enjoy a free movie! Be prepared to travel by foot to various locations in all weather conditions. Meet in the Welcome Center. (Free) *Groups of children under 12 must have an adult with them. **The CSC will lend participants GPS units to use for this program.

Noon – 4pm | Mini-Golf on Main Street | Henry March Gallery and The Champagne Hippie Vintage Clothing Store | 83 Main St Stop by and play the short course of mini-golf installed on the gallery floor. (Participation fee)

1pm | Pitch Tournament | Veterans Club | 60 Main St Teams of players gather at the Vets Club and play throughout the day. $20 per team, refreshments will be served.

1 – 3pm | 10th Annual Cooperstown TREP$ Marketplace | Cooperstown Junior/Senior High School Gym | 39 Linden Ave Support young local entrepreneurs – students running their own businesses selling unique products and services, past product offerings have included soaps, spice mixes, wood crafts, pet gifts, photography. 2pm | Professional Whiskey Tasting | Cooperstown Distillery | 11 Railroad Ave Sign-up for this unique opportunity to score and rate the Cooperstown Distillery’s artisanal whiskeys and a blind whiskey while learning about the history and structure of Bourbon Whiskey. Participants get a complementary shot glass. Space is limited to 25, so pre-register at cooperstowndistillery@gmail.com. $20 per person with ½ of all participation fees donated to the Cooperstown Food Pantry (Must be 21+).

4:30pm | Medallion Search Award | Welcome Center | Pioneer Park Medallion Search Award presented by the Freeman’s Journal in the Welcome Center.

5 – 8pm | Grilled Cheese for a Good Cause | Farmers’ Market | 101 Main St Come celebrate the end of the 52nd Winter Carnival and enjoy delicious gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, seasonal soups, dessert, local beer, wine, cider and live music. Proceeds will benefit Otsego Outdoors. Space is limited! Purchase tickets online, at the Cooperstown Farmers Market, or at Otsego 2000 Office.
