Take a look back to the 1969 Woodstock Festival on its 50th anniversary through the lenses of the photographers who experienced it. Wade Lawrence, Museum Director and Senior Curator of The Museum at Bethel Woods will provide a peek into the museum’s extensive photography archives to showcase images from both professional and amateur photographers as they documented rock and roll history in the making. See the festival from the lens of Baron Wolman, Rolling Stone’s first staff photographer, Herb Greene, known for his iconic images of The Grateful Dead, and regular attendees of the festival who provide some of the most intimate views of the event as seen by the spectators. In his image filled presentation, Lawrence will discuss how these photography collections are used at Bethel Woods to inform and delight new generations of music lovers.
