Eliza, Performed by the Musicians of Ma’alwyck
The Arkell Museum Presents, Eliza, Performed by the Musicians of Ma’alwyck
Eliza is a fascinating musical narrative of the formative years of Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton (1757-1853) arranged and performed by the Musicians of Ma’alwyck, a flexible-sized chamber music ensemble in residence at the Schuyler Mansion State Historic Site (the childhood home of Eliza Schuyler) and actress/singer Eileen Mack.
Told through monologue, song, and instrumental interludes, this program gives a special glimpse into this strong, durable, and often overlooked partner of Alexander Hamilton. Music selections include works drawn from the Library of Congress American Music Collection and the New York State Library Special Collections.
This concert is free, and includes free admission to our Portraits & Landscapes exhibit.
