Visitors to Fiber Arts Weekend will find a variety of demonstrations, exhibits, vendors, and hands-on activities featuring wool carding, spinning, weaving, quilting, knitting, and other textile related activities—all occurring throughout the museum. This year’s weekend will focus on the traditional process of natural dyeing of fibers. Museum interpreters will demonstrate a variety of textile techniques as well as providing hands-on activities for visitors. Todd’s General Store will offer woven items made at the museum, as well as fiber arts project kits. Groups participating will include the Fenimore Quilt Club, Susquehanna Quilt Club, Butternut Valley Spinners, plus many additional skilled craftspeople. Exhibitors will have items to sell including wool and alpaca products, finished goods, and apothecary items, and textile-related pottery.
