Garth Williams: Illustrator of the Century February 29 – May 10, 2020
The work of illustrator Garth Williams (1912-1996) has captured the imagination of readers and brought to life the worlds of Charlotte’s Web, The Little House on the Prairie, Bedtime for Frances, The Cricket in Times Square, and Stuart Little.
This exhibition features art for 28 of Williams’ best-loved books and explores such lesser-known facets of the illustrator’s career as Williams’ journeyman efforts as a London portrait artist and New Yorker cartoonist and his occasional forays into advertising.
