Indigo Artist Ada Yonenaka at the Art Garage
Acclaimed Artist-in-Residence at Indigo Show!
For those mystified by the indigo-dyeing obsession of recent decades—yes, tie-dye is related!—the Art Garage will host an open house for visitors on Saturday, July 27, where shibori artisan Ada Yonenaka will be in residence 1-4PM.
Surrounded by dazzling scarves and indigo-dyed hangings and runners, Ms. Yonenaka will be delighted to discuss and demonstrate the intensive and gratifying stitching and dyeing processes she uses to create extraordinary visual effects.
The open house with artist-in-residence Ada Yonenaka is offered as part of the current show at the Art Garage, Indigo plus BLUE, that features three highly-experienced indigo-dyeing artists—Mr. Homayounpour, Ms. Yonenaka, and Mr. Robert Seward—and fifteen regional artists working in the “blue” theme in different media– ceramics, painting and more. All art is for sale, as well as one-of-a-kind clothing and home furnishings.
The exhibition is on view through August 10.
The galleries are open Saturdays 10-1, and daily with a text 315-941-9607, a telephone call 607-547-5327, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
