Airports


Looking to fly in? Cooperstown is central to three commercial and one municipal airport. The Oneonta Municipal Airport is the closest paved airport to Cooperstown, just 20 miles south of the village. Albany International Airport, located to the east, the Greater Binghamton Airport, located to the southwest, and Syracuse Hancock International Airport, to the northwest, are all around a one and a half hour drive.

Once you’ve arrived in New York, you have several options of getting to Cooperstown. All commercial airports will have bus, taxi, train, and car rental options.

Buses


Depending on your travel plans, different bus services will best fit your interests. New York Trailways can get you from where you are in New York State to Cooperstown. Oneonta Public Transit provides service from Cooperstown to Oneonta, and the Otsego Express offers transportation all over Otsego County. In the Village, the Cooperstown Trolley offers around-town transportation service to places such as the Baseball Hall of Fame, Fenimore Art Museum, Farmers’ Museum, and the downtown area during peak tourism season.

Trains


Cooperstown is located within an hour and a half of two major train stations, Albany-Rensselaer and Utica. Here is a full listing of train stations in the Northeast. A bus or car rental would be the best way to get to Cooperstown once one arrives by train.

The Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley Railroad provides recreational and historical train rides for guests and locals alike and is located in Milford, ten minutes south of Cooperstown.
